California requires us to register the trailer in the state, even if the new owner is moving out of state. I think because so many people move out of California, the state tries to find ways to make it more expensive for them to move or get money from people moving out.
We have two stores in Nevada. They are in Las Vegas and in Reno. I don't know if it would save you money to buy the trailer at one of those stores and come back to California to haul your cars, but it is an option. Another option is we can negotiate the purchase of a car hauler in California at a discounted price to help offset any state fees.
